1.5 million is the toral number of Dall-E users
currently.
2 million images are made by those users daily.
1 million signed up for Dall-E’s waitlist, with almost
zero marketing.
For those who don’t know, Dall-E is an image
generator, which allows people to create realistic
images typing in a description and it’ll auto generate.
The project was started by OpenAl, held ina closed
beta from January 2021 to September 2022, getting a
million signups on the waitlist, with the only marketing
being the images made from the trial.
Dall-E is also not the only one doing this.
Midjourney released in June of 2022 and already has
one million users.
Dream by Wombo has 10 million users, granted it’s
part of an existing internet art app.
Nightcafe, Artbreeder, Fotor, Starryai and simplified
also all exist, with growing user bases.
Al generated art is a growing concept, where art
contests have now been won by people who typed in
ideas online and just sat waiting for it to be generated,
looking almost like real life.
Big question though, where is this actually going?
Google just showed a sample of Imagen Video, which
is a new project focused on going passed images and
having realistic videos made with Al.
While that working well is likely far away, it’s amusing
how this could be the next generation of social media
as a whole.
100 million people globally read fanfiction.
Fan art for existing properties is universally popular
on social media.
230 billion pirated video materials are seen daily.
YouTube alone has paid over 3 billion dollars to rights
holders of work that was pirated.
Al generated videos probably could become the next
social network, where due to fanfiction, parody, piracy
and various other ideas, it’ll allow any person to create
a story.
Hulk vs Superman
Elmo smokes a joint
Soprano’s good ending
It’s probably far off, but I don’t actually think it’s that
far off.
TikTok became big being the first platform to provide
very basic editing tools for people, which gave them a
huge edge over Instagram and everything else.
The obvious next generation of that is animation,
where sharing short animated work or even images is
going to become popular
